Caffe Ladro
Featured in September 2012 Box
If late-summer heat has you thirsting for a sweet and crisp glass of iced coffee, these beans from Seattle’s Caffe Ladro are just the thing for you. When served on ice, this mysterious Java Nica variety has the bright, refreshing acidity and tea-like qualities of an Arnold Palmer. Although this plant was found and cultivated by the Mierisch Family in Jinotega, Nicaragua, its flavors are reminiscent of a clean, washed Yirgacheffe, Ethiopian coffee. Delicate and smooth orange blossom aromas lead into a soft white peach acidity and sweetness. Smooth drying and clean, its sweet finish leaves your palate well prepared for another sip.
Buy This CoffeeWe feature truly small-batch, seasonal coffees. So there might not be any left. But that's a good thing! Only big corporate factories have the same stuff all year round.
